What you will learn

Business and Brazilian Culture:

  • In this session, we will bring an overview of Brazil (history, territorial extension, regional differences, income distribution, main international partners and culture) in the positive and negative aspects. Also, present Brazil as a market of considerable size with growth potential, which has abundant natural resources and favorable demographic data. In the end, we will discuss the main sustainability challenges faced by businesses in Brazil.

Visit to Globo:

  • Connected with the session on Business and Brazilian culture, during this visit, participants will get to know TV Globo, which is a Brazilian open commercial television network watched by more than 200 million people daily, whether in Brazil or abroad.
  • TV Globo is the second largest commercial television network in the world, reaching 98.60% of the Brazilian territory, covering 5,490 municipalities and approximately 99.55% of the total Brazilian population.
  • The station is also one of the largest telenovela producers in the world.

Insper Innovation HUB Activities:

  • Workshops, where we will bring our created methodological expertise to participants and present our Innovation HUB.
In these Workshops we will bring examples of companies in which our HUB has and had participation in their growth and creation.

Visit to Oscar Freire (Melissa/ Loccitane/ Havaianas):

  • Visit with the aim of getting to know the performance in our country of important brands such as Loccitane, which has adapted to the Brazilian market and calls itself French soul but Brazilian heart, and Havaianas, which comes from the Alpargatas group, a global company, founded and headquartered in Brazil for over 115 years and that has a connection with our innovation HUB.

ESG – Case Natura and Visit to Natura & Co – The purpose of this session and vist is to present the “Case Natura” and how it is related to the ESG concept.

  • Focusing on women’s self-esteem not only with products but also with opportunities, in 1974 Natura adopted the direct sales system through consultants, giving an opportunity for work and income (main or supplementary) to women of all levels of education. Today, there are more than 8 million consultants who work in direct sales.
  • Also in terms of communication, Natura was a pioneer, still in the 1990s, in advertising celebrating “true beauty”, something that has enormous power to increase female self-esteem, breaking limiting and prejudiced stereotypes in relation to aesthetics and including beauty standards of all colors, sizes and ages.
  • Another important front that combines corporate governance, diversity and sustainability is the company’s work in raising awareness about the use of refills and packaging recycling. In addition to increasing people’s access to products by making them cheaper, the refill movement brought a lot of environmental awareness.

Visit to Nestlé’s Innovation HUB:

  • Visit to Nestlé’s Innovation HUB, which is an open innovation platform and incubator for new business for the company to co-create the regenerative food ecosystem of the future with multistakeholders.
  • Panela is Nestlé’s connection platform with employees, startups, universities and business partners. It arrives to consolidate Nestlé’s presence in the innovation ecosystem in Brazil and to be the connection channel for internal and external partners to relate with the company that has more than 50 brands.
