O International Innovation Seminar é uma iniciativa do HUB de Inovação do Insper que tem como proposta um overview sobre a inovação em diversas áreas do conhecimento, tais como corporate venturing, mercados financeiros, saúde, agronegócios e sustentabilidade tendo inovação como tema transversal.
Neste seminário, os participantes serão convidados a pensar sobre o futuro de forma holística: como a inovação impactará organizações, negócios e os indivíduos. A programação reunirá nomes internacionais, referências na temática, trazendo para o Brasil conhecimentos de fronteira e networking diferenciado para os participantes.

Personal Impact. • Initiated a cross-department analysis to enable management to precisely evaluate the cost of customer acquisition • Initiated and prepared an internal structurוual change together with external tax advisers that cut the company’s tax liability by 50% • Introduced a software product to the CEO and VP Product; we are currently evaluating a partnership agreement • Brought in new customers with a TCV totalling over than $250K with the potential of additional $450K TCV • Work alongside the CFO analyzing potential acquisitions • Created a finance guideline for sales personnel to streamline the contract-cash process and improve data capturing • Built and managing a team of 3 employees between Israel and the UK

Oleg Butovsky
Associate Professor of Neurology, Harvard Medical School Dr. Butovsky has made seminal discoveries including the identification of the TGFβ-dependent homeostatic M0-microglia and the second major microglia phenotype, neurodegenerative MGnD-microglia which is regulated by TREM2-APOE pathway. These findings led to the establishment of national and international collaborations to develop microglial targets to treat neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Butovsky’s lab is internationally recognized for redefining microglia and identifying novel therapy targets. The group specializes in the generation of novel methods including: 1) microglia arrays utilizing novel spatial technologies to determine unique microglia phenotypes associated with pathologies; 2) generation of microglia and monocyte specific mAbs; 3) generation of transgenic mice to target microglia and myeloid brain infiltrates; 4) developing PET-based microglial biomarkers; and 5) developing microglia-specific therapeutic delivery strategies.

Her primary research interests are in data-driven modeling of complex stochastic systems, dynamic optimization, and queueing with applications in health-care operations management. Her work combines empirical approaches with mathematical modeling to develop evidence-based approaches to improving healthcare delivery. She completed her PhD in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University and She did her undergraduate studies at MIT.

Before that, he was located in Germany responsible for the market launch of a consumer autonomous mower for European markets. Previously, Alex in various roles of technology development, technology planning, and advanced marketing. Alex earned a PhD in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University, (USA), and previously Industrial Engineering, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Catolica (Chile). He grew up in the Chilean Patagonia. During his spare time, he helps running a family cattle ranching and tourism operations in that remote area.

Dr. Ashlie Burkart, MD is the Chief Scientific Officer at Germin8 Ventures, a venture capital firm and thought-leader in food and agriculture innovation, and an Associate in the Environment and Natural Resources Program at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center where she is was the leader of the “Advancing US Agriculture” study group and the “Innovation, Investment and Policy in Regenerative Agriculture” event. Dr. Burkart is also a practicing gastrointestinal pathologist and grant-funded researcher in gut health. As a boarded anatomic and clinical pathologist with expertise in gastrointestinal/liver pathology, Dr. Burkart draws upon her deep pathology and research background to extend Germin8’s scientific capabilities and actively support Germin8 portfolio companies. Dr. Burkart’s extensive knowledge across health and nutrition, microbiome, agro-ecology, and climate alike positions her effectively as a medical-ecologist bringing intellectual horsepower to shepherd a new standard of care for people and the planet, enabled by our food. Dr. Burkart received a B.A. in biology from Brown University, where she graduated magna cum laude with an honors in neuroscience, and an M.D. from McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Burkart completed residencies in anatomic pathology and clinical pathology at John Hopkins Medical Institutions, as well as a fellowship in gastrointestinal/liver pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She is a recipient of the Dean’s Award for Distinguished Teaching, the highest teaching award that is awarded by the graduating medical school class. Dr. Burkart was also awarded the National Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, which the medical college awards to “one faculty member who demonstrates both clinical excellence and outstanding compassion.”

In this role, he advises clients on decarbonization, climate governance and management, and transition to a net zero circular economy. He has 15 years of experience in sustainable development, ESG strategy development and regulatory reporting, and impact and responsible investing. Niki has served as an AmeriCorps VISTA, UN Volunteer, and on the US House Subcommittee on Africa and Global Health. He holds master’s degrees in global affairs and sustainability management from Rutgers University and Columbia University, respectively.

Rodrigo Amantea
Mestre e Doutor em Administração de Empresas pela FGV-EAESP. Desenvolve pesquisas na área de inovação, intraempreendedorismo, desenho organizacional e marcas. Possui vasta experiência na gestão e inovação de produtos, serviços e marcas, em empresas de tecnologia e serviços de grande porte. Desde 2011 é Coordenador Acadêmico de Educação Executiva e professor do Insper.
Rodrigo Amantea
Mestre e Doutor em Administração de Empresas pela FGV-EAESP. Desenvolve pesquisas na área de inovação, intraempreendedorismo, desenho organizacional e marcas. Andrea Minardi
Professora Senior Fellow do Insper e diretora da Sociedade Brasileira de Finanças. Foi diretora acadêmica de graduação, membro do Comitê Executivo do BALAS (Business Association of Latin American Studies), membro do Conselho Fiscal da ANGRAD (Associação Nacional dos Cursos de Administração). Leciona as disciplinas de Finanças Corporativas, Investimentos Financeiros, Private Equity e Venture Capital, Risco de Crédito e Opções Reais para os cursos de graduação e mestrado em Economia e em Administração, além dos programas de Educação Executiva. É pesquisadora nas áreas de finanças corporativas e opções reais; autora do livro “Teoria de Opções Aplicada a Projetos de Investimento” e de diversos artigos publicados. É bacharel em Engenharia de Produção pela Escola Politécnica da USP, mestre e doutora em Administração de Empresas com especialização em Finanças pela Fundação Getúlio Vargas – SP, e foi aluna visitante do programa de doutorado em Administração na University of Texas at Austin. Doutor em Administração de Empresas (linha Finanças) pela FGV, visiting scholar da University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, MBA em Finanças pela Universidade da Califórnia (UCLA) e Engenheiro pela Escola Politécnica da USP. Professor de Finanças e Economia no Insper desde agosto de 2005. Atua como coordenador das trilhas de finanças (NDE) dos programas APF e Certificates na Pós-Graduação. Leciona nos cursos de Pós-Graduação e Graduação da escola com dedicação integral. Tem realizado pesquisas na área de crédito comercial (“trade credit”) com publicação no Journal of Corporate Finance (5-Year Impact Factor: 2.569), Economics and Finance Review e em diversos encontros de finanças nacionais e internacionais (EBFIN, FMA). Atua como referee da revista Journal of Corporate Finance e como parecerista para a EnANPAD na linha de Finanças. Atuou como mentor do REP (resolução eficaz de problemas) na Graduação de administração do Insper junto a diversas empresas. Desenvolveu modelos de suporte à decisão e estruturação de hedging e derivativos para a tesouraria do Banco Itaú entre 1981 e 1986. Fundou e geriu a Axioma Informática que atuou mais de 20 anos como pioneira e líder em desenvolvimento software utilizado pelos principais gestores e administradores de fundos de investimento no Brasil. Atuou em consultoria e cursos executivos para o mercado financeiro com clientes como Bradesco, Citibank, HSBC, Itaú-Unibanco, Bankboston, Garantia, Norchem, Petros, Philips Seguridade Social, Western Asset Management, Legg Mason, Brasilprev, SunGard, ABN Amro, e Banco Alfa

Foi pesquisador da Universidade de Cambridge no CRUK/Wellcome Trust Gurdon Institute e no Milner Therapeutics Institute, com suporte da Royal Society and British Academy Newton International Fellowship, Corpus Christi College Research Fellowship e Borysiewicz Biomedical Sciences Fellowship. Também atuou na Indústria pelas empresas Pentail Enzymes (atual JĀNA BIO LTD), como co-fundador, e STORM Therapeutics Limited, como pesquisador; e como professor visitante em diversas universidades, incluindo Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome (Unicampus) e Humanitas University – Medical School de Milão, na Itália, bem como Karolinska Institutet e Uppsala University, Suécia. Sua pesquisa tem abrangido diversos mecanismos envolvidos no controle da atividade do genoma durante o desenvolvimento embrionário, em células-tronco e em doenças, com foco especial em redes regulatórias envolvendo RNAs não-codificadores de proteínas (“noncoding RNAs”) e suas modificações covalentes (“RNA modifications”). Atual ênfase em pesquisa no Insper na intersecção de biologia molecular com bioengenharia e desenvolvimento de técnicas e ferramentas analíticas para o estudo de biomoléculas.
